Newsletter – November 2008
Welcome
A very big hello to all new parents and welcome back to existing ones. There are currently 26 children attending the pre-school, with more due to start in the coming months.
Christmas Fair
Our Christmas Fair will be held on Saturday 13th December, from 10am to 12noon. Father Christmas will be dropping in and there will be a host of festive stalls, a craft table for the children, face painting and refreshments.
The fair is a crucial fundraiser for the pre-school as well as a fun event for all the family.
What can you do to help? We need…
- Donations of good quality second hand toys and books to be brought to the pre-school between 5 and 8pm on Friday 12th December or from 9am on the Sat 13th.
- Home made cakes and mince pies, to serve as refreshments. We would be grateful if you could bring these early on the day.
- Help manning various stalls on the day; if you can help out please sign up on the list at Pre-School or offer your services to Katie Price. Tel…01225 471881
Door Hazard
The staff are very aware of the hazard that the door into the pre-school presents for little fingers. Could all parents please take the door from the person in front of them or the Play Leader and hold it open for the next person to avoid any accidents.
Come Into Play
A new rota of parent helpers is displayed near the entrance door. Please look out for your name and let Sandra know if you cannot come in or wish to swap a session.
You will be able to see your child’s folder when you come in to help, but if you’re not on the volunteer rota, then please ask Sandra to see it.
Christmas Party
The children’s Christmas Party will be held on Friday the 19th December. Parents are invited back to celebrate with their children at 11.30. All preschool children are welcome to attend the party, even if they do not normally attend on a Friday. These children will be invoiced for an additional day at a cost of £8.00 (normal session fee). Look out for more details coming soon.
Book Bags
Book bags are still available to purchase from the preschool at a cost of £4. They are bright purple and display the preschool’s emblem. All the children will be keen to have one and will help us to raise a small amount of money, which we can use for buying more equipment.

Outside Space
Now that outside space is being used on a daily basis, the children must have a warm, waterproof coat with them for each session. Please make sure the coats are named.
Name / Tapes and Stickers
Take the hassle out of labelling your children’s items with Easy2name.com this website has a large range of labels at good affordable prices. When parents buy from this website the Pre-school can get 20% commission.
Tell us…………
If your child does something for the first time at home (such as getting dressed by themselves etc), please make a note of it and bring it to Pre-school so we can include it in their folder.
Mobile Number
While your child is at Pre-school, if you are unable to contact the Play Leaders on the landline, it will be because they are outside with the children. In an emergency you can contact them on the pre-school mobile number 07504 780629. Please do not use this number at other times.
Don’t forget…
Please take your child to the toilet before saying good-bye. Even if they say they don’t need to go. It is good for them to get used to using the Pre-school toilet.
REMINDERS: If you have any queries or concerns please ask, Sandra is always available.
If your child is sick or has diarrhoea, please keep them at home for 48 hours after the last bout. If your child has a temperature or you suspect is unwell please do not send them to Pre-School.
Make sure your contact numbers are up to date should we need to contact you during a session.
Also do remember to bring a change of shoes if your little one likes to come to pre-school in wellies.
TERM DATES: Our last pre-school day is Friday, December 19th. We’ll be back in the New Year on Monday 5th January.
